Since November 2023, TFA has continued to collaborate with Disability Rights Agenda (DRA), a cross-disability organization led by persons with disabilities in Armenia. The organization aims to promote, protect and monitor the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) in the Republic of Armenia.
In December we came together to apply for a grant from the European Union. DRA was successful in their application and we have since started working together on the project titled “Independence and Dignity in Daily Living through Assistive Devices.” The aim of this project is to support the housing and self-care needs of Artsakh Armenians with disabilities in their transition to Armenia. TFA helped to create a rehabilitation assessment and a lengthy list of adaptive equipment that can support feeding and dressing. We will also partner with occupational therapy students from Texas Woman’s University to create educational resources for patients and service providers. A webinar is scheduled for April to dive deeper into this topic.
