Collaboration with Alzheimer’s Care Armenia to Strengthen Role of Rehab in Dementia Care

After the successful launch of our Collaborative Learning and Brainstorming (CoLAB) program last year, we are excited to announce our second event that took place on Sunday, January 28th.

Three members of the TFA team presented on “The Role of Rehabilitation in Supporting People with Dementia and Their Caregivers” and problem-solved a real case from Alzheimer’s Care Armenia (ACA). Multidisciplinary rehabilitation support and education was led by TFA’s Taline Boroyan, MS, OTR/L, Sarah Young, MS, CCC-SLP, and Laura Benoy-Zuttre, PT, DPT. Case presentation was provided by ACA’s Dr. Sona Mkhitaryan, MD. TFA’s Camille Ko moderated the event.

The event welcomed 45 attendees, and was extremely impactful and educational based on survey responses. Attendees reported that their confidence in understanding, supporting, and using resources related to dementia increased from a little/moderately confident to very confident after the event. These statistics were a strong indicator of the value and effectiveness of this educational event.
